How to style grey jeans, the big stars of this year’s fashion?
Today we are talking about one of the 2023 fashion trends, already announced by various high-end fashion magazines.
Grey jeans have actually been little seen for a few years, but now they are here to come back and do it as the real deal!
Here are some stylish options at a glance:
But first a word of warning: unfortunately, grey jeans are not the most flattering in the denim world.
Unlike, by the way, grey fabric pants that have an even wash. The “faded” wash that characterizes them, in fact, unfortunately tends to add a few extra pounds.
And this more from white or cream jeans that often, indeed, creating a defined silhouette tend to slender more.
However, this year we really find so many models of jeans, so it will not be difficult to find the ones that enhance us among wide-leg models, mom jeans, cargo and so on.

But let’s now look together at some pairings we can do with gray jeans.
A first general advice, however, is to avoid jeans that are really delavé, with very pronounced discolorations, decidedly lighter spots and darker ones, maybe in strategic places on the butt, on the knees, here on the thigh, maybe a lighter stripe to make the legs look slimmer.
Those effects really risk cheapening the whole outfit.So stay on a nice gritty wash, but a little bit more even .
How to style gray jeans, then?
Here are some of the pairings in my opinion that are most appropriate even over 50.
They are also the ones we see most often Vogue or in Harper’s Bazaar and generally in articles devoted to this trend.
1 – With white or other light and cool (or neutral) shades.

The first pairings that come to mind, which are also by far the most used in current fashion, are those with the colors contained in the gray itself, so black and white .
2 – Pair them with black
Alternatively, you can pair gray jeans with black. It is always an apt and winning combination because black is contained in gray.
3 – Total Look
Another idea to best wear your gray jeans is to create a column of color.
Pair your jeans in total look, with a gray sweater or blouse, and then maybe to break it up with accessories or a different color outerwear.
Or you can wear a blazer or coat that is also gray and then maybe break away with accessories.
Again, the most elegant pairings in my opinion are those that combine gray with other neutral shades.
I personally have a hard time, I confess, seeing gray jeans paired with bright colors.
Of course, you can vary your looks endlessly by combining them with various shades of color.
I, for example, really like blue, camel which I find very elegant in combination with gray, but also a nice cream or white.
4 – With a patterned blouse
Another idea is to spice up the grayness of jeans by pairing them with a patterned blouse that always contains gray and thus ties in well with the jeans, but at the same time creates a nice contrast.
When it comes to outerwear, you can match something gray or in one of the other colors contained in the blouse pattern.
5 – With military green
Finally, I tried wearing my jeans with a slightly oversized coat in a not-too-warm shade of army green.
In this case the contrast is less pronounced, but it works.
What about the accessories?
Let’s start with metals: of course, gray invites the use of silver and white gold, in short, cold metals in general.
But I personally also like it very much with gold details, as far as the metallics of the bags, the details of the shoes and belts, but also the jewelry I wear.
As for matching them with accessories such as shoes, bags is belts, but also scarves and other details, I find it easy to match them witha pair of gray jeans.
I like them naturally with black, but also to leather colors ranging from a little bit darker camel to cognac and dark leather color.
They are colors capable of warming the gray and giving it that extra touch.

Of course, gray jeans can also be paired ton sur ton.
Maybe you have a nice Gucci bag that ties in my opinion well with this type of jeans.
But the Louis Vuitton monogram can also look very good with gray jeans, especially if you don’t choose them too dark.
A final caution is to choose the right color shade for your jeans. Avoid washes that are too dark, which not only look good on many women, but also tend to look sloppy.
Better then a slightly washed-out black, which yields more and is easier to match, at least in my opinion.
